About the author(s)
Peggy Phelan is among the best-known contemporary feminist theorists, with a particular focus on contemporary visual arts and performance from feminist psychoanalytic perspectives. Phelan taught in the Department of Performance, Tisch School of the Arts, New York University, from 1985-2002, and is currently the Ann O’Day Maples Chair in the Arts and Professor of Drama and English at Stanford University.
