Featuring thousands of videos shot by people around the world on October 10, 2010, the One Day on Earth Project was first conceptualised over two years ago - long before YouTube announced the creation of Life In A Day, the Ridley Scott-produced, similarly crowd-sourced film which will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival this month.

The project is the work of two friends who met at the University of Southern California - Kyle Ruddick (Director) and Brandon Litman (Executive Producer) - and was co-ordinated with the help of social networking platforms and over 60 non-profit organisations, including the United Nations Development Programme.

Yesterday (18 January) the project came one step closer to completion with the launch of it's geotagged video archive, featuring all content shot on 10.10.10. Around 5,000 to 6,000 pieces of edited footage which can be searched by topic, popularity and location.
