Multi-award winning designer Marc Newson is the creative mind behind innumerable design masterpieces from Dom Perignon coffrets to clothing for G-Star and his classic Embryo Chair

As well as product and interior design, Newson's repertoire includes successful forays into transport design, with projects for Trek, Ford and Qantas. This specific area is the subject of his latest exhibition, Transport (on show at New York's Gagosian Gallery until 16 October), which brings together all of his major designs and realised products for transport and human locomotion since 1999 for the first time. Highlights of the show include a reflective-metal tri-fin surfboard and a jet plane - conceived when Foundation Cartier offered Newson the chance to design whatever he wanted as a gift for his 40th birthday.
