If ever there was an embodiment of 'instant fashion', this is probably it.
When sprayed onto the body, Dr Manel Torres' aerosol liquid turns into a cotton-like fabric which can be reused and washed while still retaining its original shape and colour.
The innovation, which took over a decade to develop, has been conceived by Torres in collaboration with Paul Luckham, an Imperial College professor of particle technology. The formulation of suspended fibers, binders, and polymers that come together to create a strong nonwoven material has already been named 'One of the best innovations of 2010' by TIME Magazine and attracted interest from car manufacturers, furnituremakers, and even the U.S. Army.
