If you can't afford to collect blue-chip contemporary art, there's always 'bad art' - works so terrible they're almost brilliant (and some of which looks eerily similar to the blue-chip stuff). Yours for a few dollars from your local thrift store - or even for free, as long as you don't mind a little dumpster diving. It even has it's own dedicated museum, The Museum of Bad Art (MoBA).

Follow the link to The New York Times, which profiles the rise of a phenomenon recycling the idea of 'found art', as well as some (perhaps deservedly) lost masterpieces.
