Martin Scorsese, the master of gangland classics, comes to the Port Eliot Festival
The American film legend is curating the Paradiso Outdoor Cinema at this year’s Cornish cultural festival
Martin Scorsese, renowned film director, screenwriter, producer and actor, is curating the Paradiso Outdoor Cinema at this year's Port Eliot Festival. Amongst his selection of film classics is Luchino Visconti's The Leopard from 1963, starring Burt Lancaster, Alain Delon and Claudia Cardinale.
Heather Stewart, Creative Director of the BFI, which helped programme the films, said: 'It's the BFI's mission that archived film is seen by new and broad audiences so we're delighted to be working with Port Eliot Festival to expand the selection of classic and unexpected archive films'.
Visconti's The Leopard is paired in a double-bill programme of literary adaptations with Renoir's The River (1951).
