The West Wittering competition was rained off back in June, so it's been rescheduled to take place this weekend

Architects, close down your CAD software this weekend and pick up your bucket and spade. RIBA's sandcastle competition is finally being staged at West Wittering's Blue Flag beach, West Sussex. Although other sandcastle comps were held earlier this summer, as part of RIBA's Love Architecture festival (June 15- 24), the West Wittering event was cancelled when the region was flooded. Thankfully this Saturday's forecast is dry and arm. Come along to the beach to register from 9.30am and start digging from 10.30am.  Prize categories include Tallest Sand Structure, Most Technically Daring and The People's Choice, voted for by beachgoers on the day. The judging takes place at 1:30pm.
