Thank you for your interest in using Phaidon material.

The purpose of this page is to provide you with information about the steps that you need to take in order for us to assess your permission request.

Before submitting a permission request, please:

• check that Phaidon actually handles the rights in the materials that you wish to reproduce by looking at the copyright notice and checking the acknowledgements page(s) at the back of the title in question
• note that we can only accept applications in writing submitted via e-mail to permissions@phaidon.com
• fill in every section of our Permission Request Form.  If details are missing, we will not chase you for missing information and your request will not be processed
• make your request as specific and appropriate as possible to the usage you require. We do not grant blanket permissions covering multiple uses, languages and formats on the basis of possible future uses of the material in question
• note that we have our own standard form licences.  We do not use licences prepared by third parties
• note that we generally charge a fee for the reproduction of our material
• note that our current turnaround time for dealing with permission requests is 4-6 weeks from the date that we receive a fully completed Permission Request Form
• note that we do not grant permission to reproduce Phaidon material electronic format

Print extract rights

If you are certain that Phaidon handles the rights in the material that you wish to reproduce, and having carefully read the guidelines set out above, please fill in this form and return it to permissions@phaidon.com.

Image rights

Generally we do NOT control the rights to the images contained in our titles.  Before filling in a Permission Request Form you should carefully check the copyright status of the image(s) that you wish to reproduce by looking at the acknowledgments, credits, and notes on the copyright page or at the back of the title in question.

If the image that you wish to reproduce is attributed to another source, person or institution, please contact the cited party.  Do not contact us in order to obtain contact information as we cannot provide you with this information.

Prop use

If you want to use our books as props, please fill in this form and return it to permissions@phaidon.com.

Electronic rights

Phaidon does not grant permission to reproduce Phaidon material electronic format.

Use of cover images and authors’ photos
